Unfortunately, however, the joke is on taxpayers. This hits all of the low-points in the growing disparity between the benefits and work rules for public employees and those private sector taxpayers who pay for them: overly generous contracts, fraudulent disability claims, double-dipping, unrealisticly cheap health care co-pays, lifetime pensions, no-show jobs, budget-busting overtime and more.
