Sheriff Frank Cousins

SheriffCousinswithBrettI am really pleased to have the support of Sheriff Cousins. Having the support of someone with a proven record of reform who understands what it takes to be a good legislator and has worked with leaders throughout Beverly is a strong statement that I am the clear and capable choice to represent this city in the legislature and bring that same goal of reform to Beacon Hill. He has a great base of supporters in Beverly and I look forward to having their support as well.

Cousins has been the Sheriff of Essex County since September 1996. Initially appointed to the post by Governor William F. Weld, Sheriff Cousins was elected to his first six-year term in November 1998. He easily won a second term in November 2004 and has continued the institution of progressive reforms that have made the department a national model. He is currently running for re-election.

Cousins added, "It's imperative to control spending in state government and respect the taxpayers' pocketbooks.  We must restore balance in government in a two party state and I believe Brett Schetzsle can provide that leadership for the citizens of Beverly."
